You know I love me a good quote.
If you didn’t know, now you do.
Love when one captures exactly what I want to say and how I feel but can’t get it out in words.

“You can’t live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.” (John Wooden)

This is oh.so.true.

Ya’ll know my motto.
Aka removing people who don’t bring anything positive to your life, or a better way to look at it is to remove the negative Nancy’s. #cuztheyrewack
Life’s too short right?!
Even tho my “cut the fat motto” is useful by physically removing yourself from negative people, it does not, I repeat does not, discourage you to get out there and make someone’s day.

You see, if you just sit around and have pity party after pity party about your same sad story,
nothing’s going to change. #truth
Your situation isn’t going to change, and your craptastic attitude will stay just as crappy.

I get it.
Life can suck. It can even suck eggs. #ithink
I get that when you feel at the end of your rope,
the last thing you think you even have energy to do is help someone else.
But friends I’m here to tell you
you need to do just that.

I promise you won’t be able to not help but feel better. Lighter.

  1. That is so true, nothing can make you feel better than doing something for someone else!

  2. So on Sunday I met my friend Cris for coffee and girl talk at Starbucks. We’re sitting there and an elderly gentleman comes in and asks a man for directions. The man looks at us and asks if we know where a road is that he’s unfamiliar with the area. I respond it’s about 7 miles down the road. The elderly gentleman gets upset and explains that he has cancer, and a bad foot, and he’s been going around from church to church asking for help to pay for his chemo medication that he didn’t have the copay for. I was about to tell him that I would take him there (My mother clearly never told me about hitchhikers) when the other man said to him give me a moment to finish up with my work and I’ll take you there. And then the man handed him $40, and paid for something for him to drink. It was seriously one of the nicest things I’ve ever seen!

Great giveaway! And happy birthday to your brother!

  3. There’s a woman in our town who goes to Starbucks everyday and she always pays for the person behind her in the drive-thru. I wish I could afford to do kind gestures like that, it just makes someones day!

  4. I like to pay for the person’s food behind me in fast food drive thrus!

  5. I have heard of a lot of people paying for the person behind them at Starbucks as a random kindness. I think I want to do that over the holiday season just to see someone smile and remind them of the kindness in the world:)

  6. I sent a ton of Gabby’s baby clothes to Mexico. BIL can’t get a job and they just had their first baby. Winter is coming and the babies can’t be nakey!

  7. I want to pay for someones meal after me!

  8. Simply holding the door for someone is something small but a kind thing you don’t see often anymore.

    April C.

  9. It always seems like it will take so much work, and when you can’t help yourself sometimes, how are we able to help someone else? But you’re RIGHT! You feel better, happy, and truly enjoy that you were able to bring light to someone else’s day. My latest RAK? I paid for someone’s groceries because their debit and credit cards weren’t working and didn’t have enough cash. They were so grateful, and I’m so glad I was able to help them out 🙂
